De Minimis and Tariff Update for US Customers

You may have heard about recent US trade policy changes and we want to share with you how this affects ordering petal & pins if you are based in the US.

US Customs & Boarder Protection (CBP) has advised that the new duties and taxes must be collected on goods prior to entering the US.

You will now see applicable duties as a separate line item at checkout once you have added your address. This means you will be able to clearly see the final cost before checking out.

How Duties are Calculated

Duties are calculated individually on each product based on product category and place of manufacture and then totalled at checkout to provide you a final figure.

Most petal & pins products are made in Australia and consequently are subject to low tariff rates of around 10%.

However, our gorgeous pure linen tea towels and cotton aprons are ethically made for us by a trusted partner in China and then hand-finished by us in Australia. Unfortunately this means that higher tariffs are applied to these products.

The wonderful Trovelore brooches we are proud to sell are made by artisans in India and are consequently subject to higher duties at present.

Similarly, the tariffs applied to our Japanese MT washi tape, Ballograf pens from Sweden and other imported products also attract varying rates.
