Festive Table

Our table top Christmas tree is back again this year in a new design featuring pink and red geranium flowers from the petal & pins garden. They're a great way to add a festive touch and come flat packed to slip in a suitcase or post to a flower loving friend.

On the weekend we had friends around for lunch and I arranged a bowl of freshly cut flowers  and two of the trees for a striking - and quick to throw together - centre piece. 

To add a bit of fun to the afternoon I googled some humorous friendship quotes, printed them out and slipped one into an envelope, hand wrote each guests name and tied one of our Christmas Geranium gift tags to the cutlery for elegant but informal place settings. 

This really was a last minute idea but I was pleased I did it, we went around the table and read our quotes aloud with smiles, laughs and and a few playful digs at each other - it was a great ice breaker and something I'll try again on another occasion...and I know how I'll be setting the table on Christmas Day!
